M.Phil in Education

The M.Phil in Education program is grounded in the ideological, philosophical, historical, psychological, social foundations and pragmatics of the field of education; teacher education and leadership and management. It particularly focuses on curriculum development and evaluation, approaches to teaching, learning and assessments in Science, Mathematics and English education.The program has a strong emphasis in research. It is grounded in both theoretical and applied research. The current program includes specializations in three strategic areas; Science, Mathematics and English language education and core areas of education such as; research, teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum.

program Goals: The overall goal of the program is to develop educational leaders, policy planners and implementers, reformers and practitioners with a sound contextual, contemporary, analytical and pragmatic knowledge and vision of education with a global outlook and ethical values along with a capacity of leading and managing, designing and changing news systems, undertaking and disseminating theoretical and applied research.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidate must have 16 years of education in any field with 50% marks, and B.Ed/M.Ed degree with minimum 60% marks or 2.2 CGPA secured in annual examination from any HEC recognized University/Institution.
  • Candidate should have either cleared GAT-General/GRE/GMAT with atleast 50% marks or appear in SIBA Graduate Test - General to secure admission.
